Schools Baskets Project

 

Here at Rudies Roots Nurseries, Not only are we a family run business offering a personal touch. We also like to help our local communities.

Rudies Roots Nurseries is proud to offer our schools basket project.

 

Our aim is to help schools, playgroups and nursery schools in Lincoln and surrounding villages to raise extra vital funds by growing, planting and supplying hanging baskets and planters (winter and summer) at a discounted rate to schools whom can the sell them to parents, guardians, relatives and even teachers for a small profit.

 

The baskets we supply are 12” wicker baskets or 12” Plastic planters, planted up a selection  of  7 plants grown at our Lincoln (Nettleham) based nursery to give wonderful displays. The baskets we supply for pubs have previously won national awards.

 

Each Basket or Planter is supplied to the school for £6 inc VAT and can then be sold on at a very reasonable cost of  £8.50 to parents, relatives,teachers etc. This has worked extremely well in the past and has given the schools a chance to raise some much needed extra school funds. Because of our success and schools returning to us, we now offer refill packs, to refill the baskets previously sold. These include 7 beautiful plants and a bag of compost, enough to fill the baskets and planters giving wonderful displays. These  refill packs cost £5

 

We are now taking orders for our winter baskets. How we work is we ask all orders to be with us by Friday 1st October 2010. The school takes the orders and payments from parents etc. No money is transferred between the school and our nursery untill delivery. Then we make the baskets to the required quantities  ordered from schools and we will deliver them to the schools the week after October half term  2010.

Upon delivery the schools then pays for the baskets at  £6 each or  £5 for refill packs.

Winter plants include a selection from  Purple Heuchera, ivy, viola, pansy, polyanthus, bellis.
